Student Support

The call for ECIR student grants is now open. The grant program provides a limited number of stipends to cover the paid registration fees for full-time students who wish to attend the ECIR 2023 in Dublin and require supports in order to do so. Students who have already registered or yet-to-register are both welcome to apply.

How to apply

Grant applications should be submitted by email to support@ecir2023.org before 14th February 2023, with the email title <“ECIR’23 Student Support”. Applicants will be notified about the selection results within two weeks of submission.

The required documents are (to be sent in a single pdf file):

  • a grant application document (2 page max.) containing the following info:

    • Full name, address, university, 

    • Your PhD: topic, starting date, supervisor(s), current research, 

    • CV related to the conference topics,

    • Statement on why attending ECIR 2023 will be beneficial to you,

    • Whether you will be presenting your work and in what form (Oral Presentation, Poster, Demo), 

    • Did you submit a paper? If yes, is your paper accepted?

  • a short letter of support from your supervisor

  • a copy of your current student I.D.

Please note:

  • This is a limited fund, so we will attempt to evaluate requests as they arrive. When the funds are depleted, we can not offer any more supports.

  • VISA: If you need a conference invitation letter for your visa, please contact admin@ecir2023.org. In case your visa office will not accept electronically transmitted invitation letters, please get in touch with us as soon as possible.
